A German V2 rocket leaves the Science Museum store at Wroughton destined for the Science Museum in London. Some protesters along the route thought it was one of the Cruse Missiles which at the time were based at Greenham Common. Selection from the Archive:

The community radio station Swindon 105.5 FM was presented the Queen’s Award for Voluntary Service (the MBE for the voluntary sector) by the Duke of Kent during a visit to the town. Chloe Leadbeater, a young photographer for the agency, covered the event and filed these images. She even got a selfie with Jahméne Douglas
