It must be Christmas, or at least the month of December, as the Old Town Christmas lights are now on.
The Mayor Swindon Town Cllr Nick Martin, footballers from Swindon Town with Rockin Robin and Fleshcreep from the Wyvern panto helped push the plunger to light up the original streets of the town. Even Santa payed a visit being driven down Wood Street in his sledge with a police escort.
Tanwood dance School provided some colourful dance and Swindon’s own Robert Stredder some juggling.
One person was missing however and that was Fred Ferris the Town Cryer, who sadly passed away a few days before the event. He was deputised by the Royal Wootton Bassett Town Cryer Owen Collier for the count down to Christmas.
