New Swindon station opens.

It may only small and situated in a woodland setting, but Swindon’s newest extension to its rail network is perfectly formed, and is open for business.

The extension to the Swindon Model Railway at Coate Water features a halt at the Richard Jefferies Museum and The Sun Inn thus adding to the Swindon experiance as Coate water can now become a day out.

The Halt was opened by Robert Buckland MP and the sign uncovered by GWR’s Andy Mellors.

Before setting out on the first train to the station Robert Buckland MP handed a cheque from a charity day held on the railway to the Prospect Hospice.
