New train visits Swindon.
The new Hitachi 802 series GWR train passes through Swindon in daylight for the first time. The train was running on its diesel engine as electrification of the GWR line is not yet complete. Gallery:

A reflection on 30 years ago.
We have been celebrating 30 years with silence and monochrome memories. £30 years ago the Railworks shut, and the last shift departed and hooty stopped calling us to work. Just a small reminder of 26th March 1986: And the rather wet but colourful celebrations thirty years on.
