Olympic star turns on Old Town lights.
The Old Town Business Association put on a spectacular stage show featuring entertainment and stalls before the big switch on, which saw Wood Street and beyond transformed into a twinkling wonderland. The festivities also rolled into Joiner Lane where Santa’s Grotto was located, as well as a number of other stalls for families and children

Swindon joined the many town centres that turned on their Christmas lights at the weekend. The star of this years event was X Factor runner-up Saara Aalto.
