Shadow Chancellor Ed Balls visited the Core juice bar in Old Town to talk to women in Business.
On the way through to the meeting he made a smoothie with bar manager Erica Fowers.
Labour’s Shadow Chancellor Ed Balls MP was in Swindon on 28 Novemer to meet apprentices and talk to women who have set up their own businesses.
In the morning he met former Swindon MP Anne Snelgrove, who is now Labour parliamentary candidate for South Swindon and Mark Dempsey, parliamentary candidate for North Swindon at Swindon College, with principal Andrew Miller and Amanda Burnside, executive director enterprise and learner services
At the North Star site they met nursery staff and apprentices to hear about the colleges extensive apprenticeship programme and to discuss with local learning providers the importance of vocational education to the town’s economy.
Ed, Anne and Mark travelled to Old Town to meet a group of businesswomen who have founded and grown their own enterprises. He listened to their experiences of running business in Swindon, what hurdles they have overcome and what they need to see from local and national government to support them.
Ed also took the opportunity to talk about Labour’s plans for growth and jobs in the run up to the next election
