Sport Swindon Swindon Robins V Coventry

Match Report from Swindon Robins Speedway.

SWINDON remain unbeaten after four Elite League meetings after an impressive 54-39 win over Coventry at the Abbey on Monday.

A bumper crowd, no doubt attracted by the massive reduction in admission prices for the televised event, were sent home buzzing by a solid all-round Robins display.

Skipper Hans Andersen was at his brilliant best with an unbeaten 14+1 score but everyone contributed valuable points.

Peter Kildemand kept up his spectacular scoring at reserve with 9 from three completed rides – and he was leading his other when he crashed.

Said Andersen: “I’m really pleased, a good score for myself but more importantly for the team.

“I’m just getting back to enjoying my speedway again. It’s like a new start for me with a new club and this team is really good.

“I felt good on the bike and I thought it was a good effort by the whole team, hopefully we can keep it going now we go into some away meetings.”

The meeting produced some fine racing for the fans and TV audience and with four races remaining Robins were only 38-31 up, but they ended the meeting in style with 4-2 wins in Heats 12 and 13 and Andersen and Simon Stead teamed up for a maximum over Chris Harris and ex-Robin Scott Nicholls in the last.
