We have been celebrating 30 years with silence and monochrome memories. £30 years ago the Railworks shut, and the last shift departed and hooty stopped calling us to work. Just a small reminder of 26th March 1986: And the rather wet but colourful celebrations thirty years on.
The first of the locomotives involved in the complex change over at Steam Museum was moved today. The 1934 built Railcar No.4 was pulled out of the museum and put on a low loader, ready for its journey to National Railway Museum in York. Gallery:
